Editorial preview rules review pending

Built for the first table. Still under review.

This is an editorial preview for beginners learning the American table game. It is not an official rules source.

What the guide covers

We organize the first game around what a player sees and does: recognize tiles, check a current card, pass during the Charleston, play a turn, and verify a possible hand.

Riichi, Hong Kong, MCR, and Mahjong Solitaire have different tasks and rules. They are outside this guide’s teaching scope.

Where the rules stand

Draft explanations link to the American Mah Jongg Association beginner guide and its linked rulebook. The NMJL annual card is a separate source for card-specific hands; we link to the official store without reproducing the card.

No qualified reviewer, authentic current card, or beginner task test has been recorded for this prototype. Rule-sensitive examples remain limited until those checks are complete.
